Why men are afraid of plant based meat

I rarely get vegan faux meat. I didn't need it, and wasn't even looking, and probably didn't know about it, when I gave up buying meat, years before becoming vegan. The last time I bought some faux meat, I was specifically looking for any foods not from animals with vitamin B12 in it, when I was...

US New items at Trader Joe's

I use hummus so much. It is in all of my sandwiches, and in a lot of my cooked meals, which with other things makes a really really great sauce. But it would not be with what I have mustard with or with what I have ketchup with, but certainly in meals with medium salsa. About the waffles at...

Keeping a pet: vegan or non-vegan?

The one good reason I know of to get an animal to care for that would eat animal meat is for a rescue. There isn't a sustainable way for caring for animals that way, placing demand for meat products which the industry gets paid for, and helps them continue, or having them catch animals from the...

    Killing or Eating Predators Dilemma

Some animals eat other animals. But some animals eat plants. It is necessary that there are animals that eat photosynthesizing organisms, if there are any animals. If animals only ate animals it could not last as they would die out, none of them produce nutrients. Our nutrients are ultimately...

What did you Cook or Bake Today?

I miss the way I have been cooking, still away from home on this long outing. I don't even have the reliable connection for data now. I will try another attempt at making my kind of meal with these others, if I manage that.

What did you Cook or Bake Today?

I am actually on a long camping trip now. I contributed carrot, kale, garlic, and a tub of hummus for a noodle meal, but one involved in cooking in conjunction who would have cooked the noodles had a change of mind and contributed a can of beans and tomato sauce, and a lot of cayenne pepper (too...

What are some effective ways to go vegan gradually?

I had an advantage of sorts that I don't recommend. I had given up meat, for several years before, just having learned having meat is not better for our healthiness. And I felt good feeling I was not contributing to harm to animals. That did not last, when I had gone online and eventually coming...

    The Tea & Infusion Thread.

I drink the tea rather less often, now that I found rice milk fortified with B12, and I want to use that besides the supplements for it that I take, so since I use it very little I have coffee to have that to add it.

    The Everything Non-Dairy Thread

I have mentioned something elsewhere, hoping nonvegan people who would consider giving up animal products will give up dairy for this, but do not remember if I mentioned this to vegans here in this forum, who if they really miss dairy cheese might benefit knowing this. The best sauce I ever...

    Most Moving Vegan Movie/Documentary

I think stars in movies who some idolize motivate some to being vegan when they become vegan publicly, some any of us have heard of.

I have now heard of bamboo milk.

Fairs and festivals are great to have, and I see good ideas here for festive meals, that I would keep, and share to others.

Stretching Your Dollar: How to Save While Going Vegan

I have been very very limited on spending capacity. Fortunately produce, which is more affordable than very many things, is healthy. I was getting produce I like, and that persists, along with very cheap items I could get to have with it. I now have some more quality stuff but still mostly...

    The Everything Non-Dairy Thread

I get nondairy milks, and have gone through several ones. I am settling now with rice milk just for it being the only one I have come to that is fortified with vitamin B12. I don't generally have something otherwise in replacement for any dairy, but for rare exceptions.

    The Everything Non-Dairy Thread

Honestly, it's just been just since 2013 since I had any dairy cheese, and I only sort of remember it, as I have tried nondairy cheese since, but I had already been using hummus in things for a while before I found the nondairy cheese in the store, its taste may be what I yet recall of dairy...

Animal Advocacy The Animal Activism/Rights/Welfare thread

I remember being really young and wanting to rescue and free animals nearby that I knew were all kept captive to be used. I knew no others thinking like that, then. Now I'm much older.

    The Everything Non-Dairy Thread

Where I shop for my groceries is not a place really catering to vegan people with as many options that I know are in other places as I have seen. Still there is a large part of the milk section that is filled with the alternatives to dairy, and I know demand and supply is at work. There is only...

    The Tea & Infusion Thread.

Not thinking about it much I got the timed release vitamin supplement. When I opened it, there were supplement pills at the bottom with almost the whole bottle empty. I thought it was a flaw and waited without taking any until I managed to go to that store again. I said I would exchange it, but...

    The Tea & Infusion Thread.

I got the B12 supplements now, I already had my jasmine green tea again, earlier, with ginger, and agave nectar, and I just finished the bag of Impossible sausage patties I had got which were fortified with that vitamin too.

    The Tea & Infusion Thread.

It is still a temporary situation, I will yet get the supplements. But it is good to have the fortified stuff on hand, I'm sure.
