    Books

Currently reading a cookbook called "Veganomicon" for the recipes, which have been quite fun to try out. Will be picking out a few vegan philosophy books once I'm done exhausting those cooking tryouts, as otherwise I've only really touched the surface reading the odd essay/article every now and...

    New vegan weight changes...

Hey, yes everything seems to be ok now, no more unaccounted weight losses (Christmas lentil loaves may have helped with that!) I've been adding a few more calorific snacks into my average daily foods here and there. Nothing major at all, just lots of little things like a handful of nuts every...

    Vegan at christmas

My older brother gifted me some milk-based chocolates for Christmas: I am not sure how up-to-date he is on my recent vegan switch, but I forgive him for any mistakes as he's based in Vancouver and can't be expected to be on track with everything going on back in the UK! I thanked him just the...

    New vegan weight changes...

Thanks for your suggestion - I do like pecan and brazil nuts, despite feeling guilty about the big carbon footprint they undoubtedly leave due to exporting, maybe I should go look for them. I haven't had an avocado in years - how did that happen?! :D

Thanks for your input! You've given me a lot to think about - appreciated. :)

    Veg

Last summer I found myself similarly dealing with a 'snail apocalypse': had no idea how they would all descend in hordes on my American Giant sunflower shoots every night! I'm ashamed to say back then I used nasty chemical pellets to keep them at bay, which makes me feel rather guilty, now. It...

    New vegan weight changes...

Hey guys, thought I'd post a quick question to the vegan veterans on here who know the drill! It's been almost 4 months now since I switched to a vegan diet and I've noticed, though not at first, what now is apparent to be a significant reduction in my weight: about 11 pounds. :/ This is...

What did you have for lunch?

Vegan chocolate bar. +guilty face+ :innocent:

Eating and drinking on the go

I habitually give Cafe Nero my custom out and about, as they sell excellent vegan falafels and a pasta pot I adore, plus a variety of rich drinks that can be made completely dairy free if you ask the barista. Checked out their site recently and they provide a good, comprehensive list of their...

15 weeks of veganism and counting!

15 weeks of veganism and counting!

It's certainly been rewarding! I feel I'm eating so much better now, and have more energy to show for it. I definitely need to start looking into farmer's markets - as you say it is an excellent way to get organic fruit/vegetables inexpensively and also supportive of local businesses. :)

15 weeks of veganism and counting!

Thanks for your input. :) The Fruitarian diet sounds intriguing, though I guess one would have to watch their sources and buy mostly organic. Recently was chatting with a nutritionist friend of mine who warned about the amount of pesticides contaminating supermarket chain fruits like apples.

    Favorite Herbs & Spices

I enjoy most spices, though I've never been a big fan of pepper! My favourite has to be cinnamon.

15 weeks of veganism and counting!

Well... to tell a lie I'm increasingly losing the need to keep note of how long I've been vegan as I feel the diet - and lifestyle - is really beginning to synchronise with my daily routines. :) I'm just so glad I finally made this change. Felt awful for the first month on vegan food... I also...

    Hi from england

Hey, you've made the right decision! :) Also live with a load of meat eaters - I can sympathise as it is sometimes difficult for the other party to really get what constitutes as vegan food sometimes (over the past 3 months I keep getting asked: 'do you still have milk?') Anyway, good luck...

    ***christmas competition 2017***

Lush shops are so nice to simply browse around in for the smell alone. Late shopper here too. :D

Quinoa with chia seeds, and some grapes.

What did you have for lunch?

Oh no, getting colder over here, too. Chocolate helps stave off the inevitability of foul winter weather, though. :) I'm forever visiting a cafe who make wonderful vegan soy hot chocolate. Definitely eclipses the milk powder based lattes I used to drink. Wish you luck in your quest!

Houmous and falafel wrap alongside a soy hot chocolate. :)

    E-waste

Old electronics are certainly a big problem that I can't see decreasing in the years to come. :/ Modern, developed society seems less concerned with 'if it's broken, fix it,' and more concerned with replacing everything with a better/latest model. E-waste also generates quite a bit of business...
