Sites similar to fooducate based on vegan principles

I think it would be a good idea if someone could come up with an algorithm which rates foods based on certain principles. I have trouble remembering all of the facts I have read in books. So it would be very useful if someone came up with some site which grades every food. I found this site...

    Oil subs other than tahini

I love balsamic vinegar. So whatever dressing I use has to have that ingredient.

    Oil subs other than tahini

Hi Amberfunk, Right now, I mix it with balsamic vinegar, horseradish and garlic. If you mix it with mustard, the mustard clumps together too much. What proportion of Agave do you use?

    Oil subs other than tahini

Hi Sapphire Lightning, Thanks for helping me out and nice name. For salad dressing. Could you please point me to a recipe? Thanks. Same here. Also, someone mentioned Mic the Vegan below. Him and the author of the China Study, Campbell, are the ones that persuaded me of this.

    Oil subs other than tahini

I've been persuaded that oil isn't good for you. One sub that I saw recommended was Tahini but I can't stand the taste of it? Does anyone know of a different sub? Thanks.

Should you eat nutritional yeast every day

Actually, on Greger's website he goes into more detail https://nutritionfacts.org/2017/02/14/benefits-of-nutritional-yeast-to-prevent-the-common-cold/ Ultimately he writes:

    Are there healthy potato chips?

You're right. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

Should you eat nutritional yeast every day

In How Not to Die, Michael Greger writes I've signed up for the half marathon on September 30. I can now run 9 miles by myself. And I want to go to do a marathon eventually but only once in my life because I think running for periods longer than an hour are detrimental to your health, at...

    Are there healthy potato chips?

It's really hard to maintain a healthy diet if you deny yourself the so-called 'fun' foods forever. I don't want to use the word 'junk food' because to me that implies 'unhealthy'. So I'm going to call a 'fun' food a food which is extremely delicious. For me this would include: pretzels...

How long does it take to rebuild your metabolism?

I don't know what you mean. Is this a typo where you meant 823 or did you mean that you cannot eat exactly the same amount down to that high precision? Otherwise I think eating roughly 1800 calories a day is quite easy.

How long does it take to rebuild your metabolism?

Well, my reasoning is is that if your metabolism is low like around 800, 1000, or 1300, then you can't just immediately go back to a 2000 calorie diet otherwise you'll gain all the weight right back. So I'm guessing that you have to slowly increase your daily calorie intake. The question is is...

How long does it take to rebuild your metabolism?

I seriously doubt that. Number one, when you start eating less calories your body goes into starvation mode and when burn less calories per day. I've eaten on average 1000 calories per day and in the last 8 days I got it down to 800 per day. These are very high calorie deficits and they are...

How long does it take to rebuild your metabolism?

Thanks but you did not answer my question. I did not say I wanted to lose weight. I said that I have already lost it and am now wondering how long it will take to get my metabolism back up to a normal rate.

Something yummy besides oil to put on my popcorn to make the salt stick

Really? You can spray water on your popcorn and that will cause the salt to stick? I find that hard to believe but I'll give it a try.

How long does it take to rebuild your metabolism?

I've lost 20 pounds in 6 weeks. I think my metabolism right now is about 800 calories per day. Yesterday for example, I only ate 700 calories and I ran the fastest 2 mile I've run in 20 years and yet I still gained .5 pounds. My strategy is to slowly eat more and more calories per day until I...

Something yummy besides oil to put on my popcorn to make the salt stick

Of the stereotypical fun foods not many of them are healthy. One of them though is popcorn. I'm going to put a salt substitute on them but it's hard to find something to make the popcorn stick. Butter is non-vegan of course. Another thing is flaxseed oil. The problem with flaxseed oil is...

Are there pretzels with potassium chloride

You have to eat 190 g of it for it to be toxic whereas table salt you have to eat 300 g. Seeing as I only eat .25 g per day, that is not toxic. I don't understand why eating 800 times my daily intake is considered toxic whereas 1200 times is not. Strange place to draw the line. I think...

Are there pretzels with potassium chloride

I don't think so. Wiki has this to say: The LD50 of orally ingested potassium chloride is approximately 2.5 g/kg, or 190 grams (6.7 oz) for a body mass of 75 kilograms (165 lb). In comparison, the LD50 of sodium chloride (table salt) is 3.75 g/kg. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potassium_chloride

Why do they put so much sugar in soymilk?

Do you have reasons for this supposition? That's why I said that all other nutrients are equal and that would includes those that we have not discovered yet.
