Are carrots really good for your eyesight?

I eat a lot of carrots. Carrots and peas are one of my major side dishes for dinner. And I'm getting blinder by the day.

Do you think children should be brought up vegan or vegetarian?

Yes, they should. If you can make them eat healthy through out their childhood they are more likely to have healthy eating habits when they grow up and move out on their own.

Could you kill an injured animal?

If I were in the situation where it really needed to be done and no one else was around, I think that I could make myself do it. But only if I had a gun or some other way to end it quick. If there's a chance that it could not work and it would make it worse, I couldn't take that chance

    Surprisingly non-vegan products

I make my own shampoo, conditioner, face scrub, rose oil, and body wash. The ingredients are all vegan friendly, I believe. Baking soda, vinegar, rose petals, coconut milk and oil, and olive oil. I tell myself that if they could do it back before everything was mass produced and ingredients were...

Could you kill an injured animal?

I haven't and, as much as I would want to, I don't know if I ever could. My grandfather had a small dog that was always by his side when he was working on their farm. The dog got its fur caught in a machine and was skinned alive, my grandfather ran, as bad of shape as he was in, all the way to...

Why did you choose to become a vegan or vegetarian?

Originally, it was because of my weight and because I was always so sluggish. I can feel the "unhealthy" coursing through my veins. I want to feel light on my feet and I, not only want, but desperately need to cut the grease out of my diet. I want to eat without it weighing me down.

    Cross contamination in restaurants

One of the restaurants I worked at had veggie burgers. They were cooked in grease, in the exact same spot as the burgers, and with the same spatula.

    Cross contamination in restaurants

On the rare occasion I eat out I have to convince myself that ignorance is bliss, and I should take it for granted that they are a lot cleaner and a lot more careful than they were in the restaurants I worked at.

    "True" Vegan

maybe its about the reason for their death. Their death should mean something... Saving a life, for instance... or saving 1000s of lives.

Veganism, clothing, exploitation and how to respond?

There are animals dying by the hands ( or hooves) of their predators, famine, and disease everyday. The people dying at war has a choice. The animals being used to test don't. The people dying of famine are very unfortunate, but no one is intentionally starving them, like they do animals. Human...

    Some theory needed

Ok, I can deal with that. There are substitutes for all of it, so the eating habit changes aren't so severe and drastic.

    Some theory needed

what about chickens and cows you raise yourself in a healthy, nurturing, and safe environment? The chickens are going to lay eggs around your yard. There's no way around it. And once they lay they just abandon it. Same with the cows producing milk. If you reap the benefits, but in no way force...

    Hardest part of transitioning?

I'm transitioning to be a vegan. I don't believe I have ever fixed a meal that wasn't built around the meat. Not to mention all the milk, cheese, butter, what have you. When I go to the grocery store or walk into my kitchen and I start to figure out what I was going to my mind pretty much goes...
