Almost 80 years after the Holocaust, about 245000 Jewish survivors are still living across more than 90 countries.

On 27 January 2025, we will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz.

The main commemoration will begin at 4.00 pm in a special tent that will be built over the gate to the former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp. One of the symbols of the commemoration will be a freight car that will stand directly in front of the gate.

All Auschwitz Survivors are invited to the commemoration. State delegations and delegations from institutions will also participate in the anniversary event.

80th ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIBERATION OF GERMAN NAZI CONCENTRATION AND EXTERMINATION CAMP AUSCHWITZ

27 JANUARY 2025

Lest we not forget these millions of people whos lives were stolen from them. There were also some heros and hopefully their memories will live on. Such a sad day for those who still care.

I have just watched the remembrance ceremony and the survivors that spoke and told their stories were exceptional human beings. Some of them were 99 yrs old and were aware that this was the last time that they would attend a big occasion for the holocaust remembrance. Some of them related their story and I was struck by their alertness, great memory and how gentle they seemed.

The entire ceremony was poignant and emotionnel. At the end when the survivors were placing a candle at the table one lady broke down in tears.

At many times, I also was in tears thinking of the millions of Jews and other races that were murdered by the nazis. The future generations must learn this part of history and keep the memory ongoing. We must never forget.😿

I mean, despite everything we have learnt about the horrors of the Holocaust, we have failed to prevent a long list of genocides after the end of WW2:

I think that by not forgetting we mean that this was a genocide on an industrial scale which went on for years.

The younger generation should learn about this in history lessons. Many of the 18 yr olds in the UK cannot name one concentration camp. Moreover, in France 25 % of teenagers do not know what the holocaust means.

Indeed, but the point of learning about and remembering the Holocaust must be to prevent any new genocides from happening. Never again, right?
Never again is exactly why Israel fought back against this, Scroll down to the quotes from Hamas themselves that show why Israel had to do what they did and show the real reason why Hamas launched Oct 7 2023. Hamas | StandWithUs
