I am having tremendous trouble with the "Adobe Flash" application.

I have gotten several warnings, like, "Foxfire has blocked the obsolete version of Adobe Flash from working."
So then I try to download and install the latest version. I have tried this more than once, but it fails to install.

Any ideas on what to do? Must I have the latest version of Firefox installed first in order to install Adobe Flash?

I was reading an article yesterday about Firefox now blocking all existing versions of the Adobe flash plugin. Coincidentally, Firefox informed me it was blocking a flash animation on that very same page :p

I think the term "blocking" is a bit ambiguous, because Firefox was only conditionally blocking Adobe Flash, i.e., it had buttons/options allowing you to "opt out" of the blocking. But I just installed the latest version of Firefox, so maybe those options have been eliminated.

I got a warning message from Norton Antivirus today about Adobe Flash. It suggested I turn it off. So I did, at least in Firefox.
