Badger campaigners claim cull is cancelled

THE badger cull in Gloucestershire is under threat because landowners have pulled out of the trial, according to campaigners.
Anti-cull group Team Badger released a statement on Facebook last night claiming that the county’s cull zone had fallen below 70 per cent due to farmers pulling out of the trial, resulting in a breach of the terms of the license granted by Natural England.

The controversial badger cull in England has failed to kill even half the minimum number of animals needed to ensure tuberculosis in cattle is curbed, sources have told the Guardian. Scientists say the failure may well result in more rather than fewer bovine TB infections, while cull opponents are calling for an immediate end to the "botched" policy.
