Which is your favourite? Which have you heard about lately? Tell us about it ...

Bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster, the Chupacabra, various "sea monster" remains washed up on the shores around the world, giant snakes, extinct species that were supposedly somehow not extinct anyway (e.g. Megalodon - the giant shark), Kraken, various lake and swamp monsters, the Cornish Owlman?

(Cryptozoology is not a recognized science because it relies heavily on anecdotal evidence. So says Wikipedia, and while I probably agree with that, I thought it would still make the most sense to post this thread here in the Natural Science forum, since we don't actually have a pseudoscience forum.)

I often listen to "Coast To Coast" at nights, but I can't pick a favorite cryptid offhand...

For those of you who aren't familiar with that radio show, it's a fairly popular, although often silly, talk show that focusses largely on unusual topics such as cryptids, UFOs, conspiracy theories, the occult, etc. Unfortunately, animal mutilations are a frequent topic, and that bothers me.

How about thunderbirds? They seem to be a prevalent symbol in Native American artwork.
"After all people have been seeing these creatures for decades, centuries even, and they can't all be mistaken."

Tam-tam-taaa!
