Deadly Asian Hornets

left the living room window open last year, and the light on all night, and when I came in around 3am there were about 5 wasps flying around light.

I wondered what would happen if I came in and found a swarm...scary.

That is scary. I remember a hornet that entered my sitting room during a warm summer evening. It was impossible to get rid of it as it was sort of diving as if it wanted to attack me.

I had to use insect killer to get rid of it as it was huge and their stings can prove fatal.

I just did a search to see if there was a thread on here about hornets and the honey bee. I saw part of a BBC documentary this morning called Animals Unexpected. It was about how animals are ending up in unexpected places around the world miles from their natural habitat.

BBC iPlayer - Animals Unexpected

They showed the hornets and their nest in a part of France and the nests can be huge! They showed a hornet and how it can efficiently kill a bee and what a threat they are to the European bee population.

It was a good documentary, I will watch it again as I missed the first part.
