Well that's interesting, since I am sure you know very well that you have actually been the subject of more than one complaint. It's too bad you can't follow Annia's example and hold yourself accountable for the role you have played in alienating people from this community.

No, I was not aware. But like I said, I'm out of this thread.

What does that mean? I was fooled by someone and apologised to them on here by pm and I now [...] if that is what you are referring to. I don't care much for her (?) views or yours so maybe try and strike up an argument with someone else.

You posted someone's identity, then when I pm'ed you, you said that you hadn't intended to, and then modified your post.

Then, the next time you disagreed with something that member said, you did the same exact thing, except that the post was modified for you.

It's a shame that you don't at least have the integrity to own up to your actions.

:fp: I didn't post someone's "identity" I posted their VB user name as I thought it was a bit of a coincidence that they posted vegan contests on VB and now they have changed to starting up feminist contests on VV. It's trolling behaviour IMO and we all know that VB had a problem with trolls.

What does this have to do with this discussion anyway? Indian Summer sent me a very reasonable pm about it and I said I would try to ignore the poster in question.

Another thing has just occurred to me from the recent posts in this thread.

If somebody has said that they are no longer taking part in a thread, I think it should be common courtesy for the rest of the participants to not quote that member's posts any longer.

If they no longer wish to respond then their wishes should be respected. Also, as quoting them gives the person an alert, yes, they could ignore it but sometimes curiosity kills the cat. With the fact that many posts in this thread have been about how people should ignore and not respond to threads that are upsetting them, quoting them back into threads is counter-productive.

Also, quoting them back in just smacks of "trying to get the last word" and if they do come back to clarify or defend themselves then they could be jumped on for coming back when they said they left.

Maybe an idea would be (if IS is going to write debating guidelines) that if a poster has left a debate but others still wish to talk about things in their post(s) then instead of quoting they could just post something as simple as "[member] raised this point blah blah blah blah" and the debate could carry on from there?
And to counteract latecomers to the thread from quoting earlier posts as they read, a good guideline (which I think should be observed in debate threads) could be that people should read all of a thread before replying? Or if it's a really long thread then read the last couple of pages to see how the debate has evolved?

What it has to do with this thread is that, just a page back, you posted saying that your British sarcasm was just misunderstood and you didn't mean any harm. I was responding to that.

I also know quite well that you know that the poster in question is not a troll - after all, when I pm'ed you the first time you did what you did, you responded by not only saying that it was not intentional, but that you had the highest respect for the individual's thoughts on veganism.

You can now try to disguise pure spite all you want, but you know the truth about yourself.

No, I don't. I have only met two members of this veg community in real life so I have no idea what type of people the rest of the members are. It may come as a shock to you but I don't value your opinions so if you think I am "pure spite" then good luck to you.

And now a message from this kitten:

MOD POST
I have closed this thread for now. I'm sorry, but we currently don't have moderator resources to handle all the reports relating to this thread. I've had a pretty rough weekend, and now I want to go watch the rest of a UFO program I started on the other day. I might re-open the thread tomorrow if there is interest.

FWIW, Ansciess is not a troll.
