It's estimated around an amazing 60 billion farm animals are killed per year worldwide. Assuming the economies in many counties picks up, China continues increasing ther meat consumption, and the world's population continues to rise, this number will continue to increase. If we lived in the eutopia some people live in where all countries are wealthier, this number would be much higher. You can assume if we consume all of the edible fish in the world and focus more on farm animals, this number will skyrocket. Regardless going back to around 1970, do we have any idea how many farm animals have died? Have we passed the big 1 trillion? 1.5 trillion?
