I have higher expectations for female politicians than for male politicians, but find myself very disappointed with those in the United States(Palin, Clinton, Bachmann, Pelosi). I'm thinking of someone along the lines of Jeannette Rankin(voted against two World Wars). Are there any?

It depends what you mean by "good", I suppose. Technically good in the sense that they manage to push through their own legislation? Morally good, in the sense that they support policies that are compatible with a certain understanding of what is morally good? I suspect you mean the latter, but it's not clear what you consider to be morally good.

Ones you think have a legitimate concern for the problems of the world. When it comes to politicians morals matter to me far more than anything.

Politics is a profession, and in my opinion being a good person doesn't make you a good politician any more than it makes you a good mechanic. I'm probably just taking semantics, I know what you meant, I just wanted to clarify that, though.

There are numerous people involved in politics whom I think are good people with worthy goals, but since I doubt they have the ability to accomplish those goals, I can't call them good politicians.

In the US, I have heard that Elizabeth Warren is good.

In NZ, we have none that are currently in government. The right wing government is in power and they dont care about others.
