Sad today to hear of the death of Maya Angelou. A brilliant author and shining beacon for all of us on how to cope with the worst life can throw at us and still rise triumphant and optimistic.

Once read never forgotten..

Heard her speak in person a few years ago. She was amazing, I'll never forget it.

I was listening to a recording of her at 77 on radio 4 yesterday and transfixed by her words and smiling at her gentle humour. She was saying that her publisher had told her that her combined autobiographic works contain more words than War and Peace.!

I would have loved to have heard her talk in person. :master:
