TV & Film Movie Lounge

Frankenweenie is wonderfully wondrous.
It's full of tips of the hat to many others of the horror genre (title notwithstanding)...including the Bride of F, Dracula, The Mummy, Godzilla, Ben, Gremlins, Pet Cemetery, Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Christopher Lee and Elsa Lanchester...to name an obvious few.

Sparky will steal the heart right out from out of you and the main song at the ending credits (no bonus scene during or after) is just too sweet: (the official video gives too much away if you haven't already seen the movie)
Strange Love by Karen O
strongly urged highly recommended.

Finally saw the Avengers. Not disappointing at all and met my expectations of being pretty kick ***. I bet it would've been amazing to see in the theater.

We saw seven psychopaths off a free screening the other night and I quite liked it. It was very disturbing and twisty. If you like a violet, dark comedy, I would say go see this. I love Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell in general, but they where amazing! I am not just saying his because we where given free passes, I wanted to see the movie anyway.

I recently saw Bully, Fish out of Water, Blade, Sin Nombre, 50/50. The first two are more of documentaries or educational videos.

I'm working on Dexter Season WhateveronefeaturesDoomsday.

I forced myself to watch the Twilight films last night.

Note to Taylor Lautner... yes you have a nice body, but for the love of god at least keep your shirt on for a full scene.

You're just selling it a bit too much, sweetheart.

I know... I just like yelling things like that at my computer screen. I read a review of his movie Abducted, which is supposed to be just awful, and apparently he gets his shirt off within the very first few minutes of the film. :p

watching a movie (on AMC while waiting for TWD) called The Land of The Dead and what a surprise to see a younger Sasha Roiz (the Captain/Prince from Grimm).

Antichrist, another Lars Von Trier movie. I have to agree with the most common comment I've seen.....WTF did I just watch? I'd like to see Dogville, but can't find it anywhere. It doesn't look like it will be nearly as strange as Antichrist and Melancholia.

Is Insidious any good? Everyone is telling me to watch it, but i've been avoiding it since it looks like the typical, boring kid/spouse/animal is possessed by a ghost/demon/evil spirit.

Antichrist freaked me out big time.

Just hearing a friend's review of Antichrist freaked me out big time. That movie sounds insane. There are some really fucked up movies that I actually enjoy and think are so creative and amazing , but Antichrist is just a little too fucked up for me.

I saw Antichrist at the cinema with Lord Snot and Ball and Chain...it was...um...interesting. But I did think about it a lot later--some of the cinematography was beautiful. I would reccomend Dogville--it was better.

I just bought Andrea Arnold's Fishtank so i could get the short film Wasp. I love that film. You can watch it here
It won an award and i can see why. The first time I saw it I didn't think they were actors--it was so like the first place we lived in England (Ramsgate) it breaks my heart every time. I feel sorry for everyone in it--but I feel it keeps a neutral perspective on the mother--it doesn't glamarise or vilify.

Fishtank is great as well.
