TV & Film Movie Lounge

I couldn't resist. I came across this trailer, and had to see the movie.

The movie was pretty cheesy, but there was one scene in particular that had me rolling. First, understand that the movie is about little carnivorous condoms that run around trying to bite penises off. In this scene, the main detective has one trapped in a hotel room and he's trying to lure it out. He does so by taking off his pants and dangling his ***** out as bait. He's saying things like "Come on you little *******, time for dinner!" The person with him, waiting frightened behind him, says "I'd get castration anxiety if I were you." The detective mutters under his breath, as he prepares to do battle with the killer condom, "I'd get ***** envy if I were you."

So yeah... Classy movie. I highly recommend it for those with no taste and crude sense of humor.

 Sort of reminds me of the movie "Teeth".

We watched The Amazing Spider-Man. It was pretty shitty. Surprisingly shitty. I feel like if you are going to reboot a perfectly good set of movies you should make them better, but that's just me.

We also watched Take This Waltz. It was interesting, and a good look at relationships and the grass is greener and the constant yearning for something indefinably more... But I kind of hated them for being so hip. Maybe I was just jealous because I want to live in a house with a stained glass skylight and be a failed writer, but ffs, how hip can people be?

That sounds ridiculous & hilarious! :D

I just watched Martha Marcy May Marlene on cable TV. In one word: Boring. Acting was wooden, dialogue was stilted. There was no soul, no heart, no passion in it. It played out like the actors were sitting around a table doing a cold reading of a first draft for a student film. The ending was particularly awkward and strange.

So, if you were interested in watching this film, don't bother.

Spider-Man 3 was an excellent movie!

Said no-one ever.

In other news, I LOVED The Amazing Spider-Man. Followed the comic pretty damn well and Andrew Garfield is yummy.

Skyfall was very good and very British. Back to basics with James Bond.<3I think I have only really liked that film and Looper this year.

I saw a trailer for a film called Pitch Perfect and it looked appalling.:fp:

Skyfall is on my list. If the weather wasn't so icky, I'd go see it tonight.

I watched Hoosiers (1986) last night.

I don't normally go for sports-oriented films but oh holy **** was it good. Parts of it had me tearing up, parts had me cheering, and parts had me doing both at the same time. Seriously, even if you hate basketball this is a great film to watch.

I loved it!

I watched Stardust last night. Then after that I started a re-watch of the show Farscape (not a movie, I know)

That is an old favorite. I finally added it to my dvd collection a few years back.

Went on Saturday. Really enjoyed it. My sister hasn't seen it yet, so I'm going to suggest we go as I wouldn't mind seeing it again. :D

I've read that Skyfall is somewhat of a return to the classic James Bond style, and I can't wait to see it!

It was definitely less campy than some of the earlier Bond movies, like some from the Moore era, and I was glad of that.

Saw both Skyfall and Killing Them Softly over the weekend.

Skyfall was very good.
Slightly unexpected ending :(

Killing Them Softly wasn't bad. Kind of Pulp Fictiony in the way they did a lot of the character building through conversation not directly related to the plot, but not of the same caliber as Pulp Fiction in my opinion. It also seemed kind of anti climactic. Worth seeing for the right type of person, probably boring for most people though. I'm glad I saw it, but if I'd only had time to see one movie I wouldn't have chosen it over Skyfall :p

Django Unchained is the one I'm really waiting for.
