I don't understand this obsession with bringing him back to the US to make him stand trial. The girl in question is now in her 50s and has moved on.

It has nothing to do with obsession but enforcing legislation. He had sex with a child who was under the influence of drugs ( which he provided) and did some despicable things to her.

But does that make it ok? She was a kid when he molested her, and he gets all these awards and glory...while her life was irrevocably changed. Does she say she has "moved on"?

He ran from US prosecution over his (alleged) rape of a drugged child.

Should there be a statute of limitations on that? How many years should you need to be on the run from rape before the US says "that's okay, all is forgiven?"
