Hello everyone,

I am currently researching cognitive tasks such as memory and learning ability in individuals consuming a plant-based diet compared to a diet including fish and meat. I am a third year student studying Sport and Exercise Science at York St John University and I'm completing a dissertation on this topic.

I would be extremely grateful if anyone who is 18-60 years old could participate. It will consist of a food frequency questionnaire and 3 cognitive tests, overall taking about 20 minutes. The link is below:

Thank you,

Hi Rebecca,

This is a very interesting topic, but I don't think you will get accurate, quantitative information from an online, anonymous survey.

Well at least she is not walking around campus with a clipboard asking random students.

Agreed. There’s no way to verify that we’re actually vegan (or anything else).

I would look for vegans in less anonymous places - offline vegan groups, Facebook, Twitter, etc. That makes it easier to verify your demographic info.

Hi Rebecca! I really like your research topic, it would be interesting to hear your findings from this study. Recently brain feed has published an evidence based article 'are vegans choline deficient' which may be of your interest for your dissertation. Here is the link to the article: 'https://brain-feed.com/vegans-choline-deficient/ Choline is a building block to acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is responsible for your working memory, attention, and learning. This article highlights the challenge of obtaining choline from following a vegan diet and ways it can be obtained.

I hope you find this useful and good luck for your dissertation!

Kind Regards
