Ricky Gervais sets off s***storm by tweeting photo of hunter and giraffe she killed

She's a self-absorbed psychopath who deserves to be publicly humiliated and then shunned. Not likely, given she's an NRA darling.

I think I can see the problem here ...

'Sophisticated' Western omnis have to pay their slaughtermen but have the satisfaction that being a Western slaughterman is a miserable job.

The unsophisticated fuzzie-wuzzies got paid by their slaughterman and their slaughterman looks like she just had very satisfying sex.

That's a 2-0 win to the fuzzie-wuzzies and their slaughterman in the "How much fun can you get from killing animals" league.

Hardly surprising that the "Oh, how much more sophisticated we are than the fuzzie-wuzzies" style Western omnis, like Gervais, have a bad case of sour grapes.

Now, if Ricky Gervais would also open his eyes to the cruelty involved with his Cheese and Dairy habit, I would be really happy....

He is very vociferous against meat, but chooses to ignore dairy and eggs. I doubt he does not intellectually understand the problems with these.

She gives a long list of animals she has slaughtered. I guess the "hungry natives" asked her to kill those animals too. How gross. And I bet she killed those animals on one of those "hunting preserves" where they stock fenced animals for rich idiots to walk up to and shoot.

Oh sure, easy for her to point the finger at the 'hungry natives.' I don't believe that line of **** for a second. If she truly had an intention to help out the natives there are a number of other ways sans killing that it could be done. I despise these individuals, so it's good to see them called out for their cowardice, but I fear it only fuels them to kill more in defiance. (And openly gloat about it.) I also hope all those individuals who are savagely appalled and want to 'shoot her' are vegan. Otherwise, they've missed the key component: we should be outraged by all needless killing of animals - not just the pretty ones.

IMO, the more people who are appalled at this sort of activity, the better. After all, if someone doesn't care about this, how likely that they will ever care about the animals who end up on their plates?

I'd be more inclined to believe her feeding the natives line if she hadn't posed with her kill. There's a little too much vanity with her benevolence.

I agree. It can make a good opener to get the other person to think about what is different with the animals ending up on their plate (and some might realize there is no moral difference and hopefully act upon that)

Agreed. As long as there is someone who consistently reminds them to think of those animals on their plates as well.
