News SkyMall files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection

Sometimes I'll see something interesting in their catalog, write it down, then, after I land, research and buy it later for a fraction of the price.

Buy directly from them? No way. I'm amazed they've stayed in business as long as they have. I imagine they've survived off first class spouses with money to spend and no concept of planning ahead. But even the most short sighted customers with money to burn are going to disappear as Wi-Fi becomes available in flight.

I've heard of them, but never ordered anything from them. I'm not surprised they're failing, as they're a victim of changing technology. As yakherder pointed out, it's easy enough to take note if there's something in their catalog you might want, and then search the internet to find it cheaper elsewhere. The internet is what did them in.

Heard of them, seen their catalogues in flight, never bought from them. Everything seemed so expensive.

My sister and I spent a flight to California laughing at this catalog. We would each choose the most ridiculous item on each set of pages and award a winner. (We were adults in our 40s laughing hysterically, mind you.) No one can make me laugh harder than my sister! [emoji1]
