One problem with slaughter-free cow milk is that it doesn't "scale" - it takes up too many resources for it to be the solution for the vast majority of people.
It would be good if conventional dairy farms were forced by legislation to treat their cows as well as the Ahimsa-type dairies though. That would soon put them out of business.

Article quotes the current supplier of no-kill (lol?) milk at $10.00 per gallon.
That is 4 times the going rate for cow milk in the USA?
I did, for attempted comic effect, make up both the ten fold and one millionth factors.
I have a suspicion that truly no kill milk would be about ten times the cost of 'milk the ***** to death in one quarter of it's natural lifetime' milk though.
In agreement. Even if there's no slaughter, it wouldn't be cruelty-free. And even if you found a cow who didn't mind being impregnated non-stop and such, I still see it as exploitation/stealing. It's not meant for us. If someone packed up a lunch for their child, and you found it, you'd have to be seriously warped to just start eating it.
