Survey:10% of Swedes are vegetarian

I'm a bit sceptical concerning the percentage. I would imagine that some people that eat poultry and fish consider themselves vegetarian. The only people that I have every met (one on line and one over here) call themselves vegetarian and they eat fish.

If you compare the Swedish percentage to other European countries plus the US they are much higher which is really surprising.

That's true, plenty of faketarians. :/ I don't understand the logic of meat eating "vegetarians" Why a chicken or a fish and not a cow or a pig?

On Djurens Rätt's website, they say the survey was carried out on subjects from 15 years old and up. So presumably younger children are excluded from the survey, and therefore I don't think they can claim 10% of the entire population is vegetarian.

I do think Sweden is one of the more veggie-friendly countries in Europe, together with the UK and Germany. When I lived in Norway, I knew of fellow veggies who went on trips across the border to buy vegan specialty products. And I myself bought mail-order vegan shoes from Sweden.

How do you translate the site you mentioned to English?
