Yes, it's frustrating to watch the government and the general public pretending the pandemic is over. At the moment we have 85,000 registered cases per day here in the UK. Who knows how many unregistered cases. And this means in a week at least nearly 1% of the population was infected. And the numbers are still increasing, although the rate of increase isn't as steep now as it was previously. Hospital admissions and deaths are still increasing at a steep rate.Of course, I do understand that people are mentally exhausted with the restrictions and just want this all to be over. And yes, the virus is generally not as deadly. But people are still dying from it, long covid is still a thing, and vulnerable people now need to be more careful than ever. Also, the economy side of it must be considered, but "living with covid" should not mean just ignoring the virus and going back to full normal. It should mean adapting society to live with sensible restrictions.End of rant.
