If you wanted to look up the registrant information on a website/domain name, but you did NOT want to use networksolutions.com, which /whois service would you use?

Any one, really ... gandi.net has one, for example. I think maybe due to some recent changes in the way this works, not all DNS providers have a (full) copy of everyone else's information, so you may have to go to the actual DNS provider of the website on which you want information to get the full record.

Ah, thank you. :)

And how does one determine the DNS Provider of a website?

BTW, the reason I am asking about this is that I am the registrant of a domain name. But I want to turn this duty over to someone else, a woman named Rachel. Rachel wanted the domain name registration transferred to Joker.com , which I did. But I wanted to check the /whois before proceeding to Step Two, which is to transfer the registration to Rachel. Networksolutions.com (which is what I generally use) was making this process difficult, because when I ran the /whois, it provided no information but just a link that basically said: Are you the owner of this site? Do you want to renew it? If so, click here.

BTW, the GoDaddy /whois seems to indicate that everything is hunky dory.
