In "WTF is wrong with people" news.... United passenger befouled the bathrooms so badly the plane had to land
A few months I bought a "Laser Lens Cleaner" CD on a whim when I was at a DVD store. My DVD player hadn't experienced any difficulties up to that point, but since I'd had it for a couple of years I felt that I should stick a cleaner disc in it for routine maintenance. What could be the harm?
Bad move.
Now, when I put a new movie disc into my DVD player it has trouble recognizing the disc and doesn't take me to the initial menu. (ie the "Play Movie" or "Deleted Scenes" menu). "This disc cannot be played. Please check the disc."
Once it has recognized the disc, it stays recognized.
I would just buy a new DVD player, but I don't have the cash at the moment, and HERE'S THE REALLY WEIRD PART:
It's absolutely fine with playing my older DVDs, some of which are dilapidated ex-rental ones that I picked up for $5 from my local DVD rental store, others of which are DVDs that I've played dozens of times before.
But it won't recognize new DVDs that are in absolutely pristine condition.
"Also, we will mention the irony of the pig in a police car now so that anyone that thinks they're funny is actually unoriginal and trying too hard," the police said on social media.
