US Chelsea (formerly Bradley) Manning: Hero or Villain?

I think it's unfortunate for other transgendered individuals that this is now being used as a reason to try to mitigate Manning's responsibility for her actions.

The whole thing with people still calling her Bradley annoys me so so so much.

Like, are preferred names and pronouns really that hard of a concept? You call someone what they want to be called, whether or not it agrees with your own personal opinions about "biology" and dumb little rules?

URGHH.

anyone who stands up and blows the whistle on the 1% and their creepy security cronies is a hero or heroine in my eyes. Plus, Chelsea is a cool name.

That's great!

Oh and just to clarify, that wasn't directed at you, not changing the thread isn't the same as actively using the name. It's excellent that you did though.

I know you didn't direct it at me, but at others. And for the record, there are plenty of people who are creeped out at the idea of transgenders, especially males transitioning to females, since they lose their *gasp* MANHOOD.
