Christmas Countdown & Everything Thread

So, what does your vegan Christmas look like? I'm lazy, and into the Solo Life, so I may break out the popcorn popper on the stove, with some locally grown popcorn and a little canola oil. I like it plain, as it tastes like fresh corn. Yum! Big granola fan, so I eat my bars and cereals, and get fiber for that sweet tooth, too! Lots of movies, on the sofa with my fave blankie, and munch some good tortilla chips, with quinoa in them. My homemade salsa, kale-based, accompanies. Happy Holidays, all! : )

we are also keeping it very simple this year - a few stocking stuffers (mostly snacky foods) - just the two of us and we will likely play scribbage and scrabble for most of the day and talk to family and friends - Gardein turkey rolls, root vegetables mash, potatoes, gravy and some kind of cool dessert

My Christmas will be a traditional family gathering at "The Mansion" as Ken and Camri are home for the holidays this year. My sister and Camri are both very aware of my diet and sides are planned accordingly. We also have Haley's diet to consider so we are all used to it! There will be football on the TV, of course. The weather is going to be pretty nice so we will probably spend a little time outside though I don't think we can play corn hole this year because the deck is under repair. They don't have a back yard, just a big huge deck area.

My Christmas Day will be low-key. We won't have my stepdad there this year as he is in the nursing home permanently, so it will be different, but I'm sure we will visit him during the week. So it will be me, my sister and my mom (who's still recovering from bypass surgery) for Christmas dinner. My family members aren't vegan, but my mom wants to roast a bunch of veggies as our sides, which sounds awesome! I'm going make a vegan roast, and I hope they will at least try it, lol. I will bring enough to share as it makes six servings. I'll make cranberry nut bread as well, and I really want to try making a vegan cheez spread. We'll see if I have enough time.

On the Saturday after Christmas, we are going to my nephew Sean's in New Hampshire for our holiday gathering. There will be 10 of us, and we're doing tacos (mine will be vegan, of course). I'm also bringing a veggie tray with hummus, apple pie and sugar cookies along with soy curls taco filling and vegan cheez.

I'll be going to my daughter's house. We are also keeping it simple. They will have some prepared foods because no one feels like cooking. I'm not sure what I'll be making for myself. It won't be anything elaborate. And probably no cookie making either. But I'll figure it out and do a little something.

I know that particularly one of our members will like the cats in the windows.
I was a cat momma for 30+ years--loving the window kitties, here! I'm doing the Solo Life, now, but frequently visit our local Cat Lounges, spend time with the furry kids, and leave a good donation. Cat auntie, now. Thanks for the kitties, shyvas!! : )

That looks great, @Chryssie! I love the snow globes and the pretty ceramic tree.
I haven't really decorated or put up a tree, and I probably won't. I've had so little free time that when I do, I just want to chill. I do have a couple of things out that I bought at a craft fair (a gnome with a crocheted hat and a wooden sign that says "Oh fuuuuuuuuudge" -- a line from the movie A Christmas Story), plus a few decorations that my sister gave me that she didn't want anymore (some small wire trees in red, green and silver, two mini Santas and a snowman-in-the-box). I reserve the right to change my mind if I manage to get done what I want to get done tomorrow and Sunday. 😁

This looks yummy! Get out your stocking! Thanks, shyvas! My treats are more common--I love chestnuts, having had them street-roasted in fiery barrels in Italy. Live manger scenes there, too! I get small bags of chestnuts on Amazon, ready to eat--yum!! How about you?! Merry Merry to all! : )
