I think if that was really how you felt you wouldn't be in here passive aggressively advocating for your favourite position...
Favorite position? I don't believe I mentioned the dismal state of mental health attitudes in the US before this post. Nor did I mention the attitude of the US which seems to endorse violence as power.
But before I learn the details of this case, I can't tell if my suspicions are correct or incorrect. I could guess, and even make an educated guess, but that seems rather premature, especially faced with the real tragedy that there are 20 children that will never grow up, never grow old, never be able to have the average range of experiences their peers will have. And for those peers, my God, can you imagine the mental trauma? How about the teachers - I heard one on NPR today, a 2nd grad teacher at the school, talking about how she had locked the kids in the classroom and tried to distract them from the sounds of the conflict by reading books to them. She didn't break down, but it's clear that she's having problems dealing with the events.
But hey, thanks for assuming you know what my favorite position is because I'm not too eager to use the yet-unburied bodies of children to say "see, this is why I'm right".
