Does anyone know of a website that has information about the crush (or crushed) box method of meat tenderizing? Chrissie Hynde mentioned this in the interview on the DVD, but did so in a manner that suggested everyone knows about it. I don't. I never heard about it before watching her interview.

Some of you will say, "Why don't you just Google this, Joe?" I tried that but only got hits about crushing cardboard boxes, which is apparently done to measure the strength of the cardboard.

Tried to find absolute anything at all on that, Joe.

Epic fail.

Thanks, CG, I appreciate it. For what it is worth, the interview cuts to about four seconds of video showing a large (live?) pig being pushed into what looks like some sort of box-shaped compactor.

Post a link to the interview, Joe. There may be some clues to follow up in there.

The interview is on DVD. It might also be online, but I doubt it. I think it is called "No Turn Left Unstoned," and probably runs 45 minutes.

(I assume that the title is a reference to the drug use by the rockers in the '70s and '80s.)

ETA: I was wrong. It is online.

Pretenders: No Turn Left Unstoned (2000) Musidocs.com on Veehd

The problem is you either have to download it or install special software to watch it online.
It seems a lot of trouble just to see a 4 second clip.

It is a fine interview, but only occasionally about vegetarianism--mostly about music.
