Dad Laughs Hysterically At Kids Falling On Ice

Everyone is posting this on Facebook as funny, but I didn't think it was funny at all. Maybe because I've fallen on black ice before and know it's painful.

I only watched a few seconds... I don't think it's cruel, the kids don't look like they're seriously hurt and are mostly finding it funny/fun too.

I didn't find it funny either though. I mean... they're just slipping. Maybe that's just me though. Also, are these kids he knows? A bit strange to be videoing other peoples kids, I don't mean that he's a pervert... but I don't think it's nice to video/photograph people you don't know, unless it's an indirect way (i.e. they're in the background/etc).

I don't think it's funny or cruel. I think it's sad/weird that a grown man is getting his jollies this way. He's not someone I would choose to know, and in fact, the kind of person I would go out of my way to avoid.

I also think it's off to be videotaping people he doesn't know, especially young people.

I think it is cruel. I cant understand why somebody can watch people (or an animal) fall over and not immediately want to rush to their assistance. If I was the parent I would get out of my car and shout at the teens not to step on that spot. Guy is a *****.

Also, when I lived in London it snowed there a few times. This particular spot there was some ice and people kept falling over. I dont remember anyone laughing at anyone else, mainly they were warning each other and helping each other across the difficult spot.

Is was probably before the FB and You Tube era.

It was mainly women on their way to work, or people walking pets who were going through the area, so they were not really people who wanted to stand and laugh at people.

He's a father waiting to pick his daughter up from school.

Agreed. I really hate how technology has allowed us to record other people without their knowledge. Sure it's nothing really too new, but it's gotten way more easier to do and to conceal.

If I was the parent I would get out of my car and shout at the teens not to step on that spot.

I was annoyed at the girls that were just standing there doing nothing also.

I think it's just a dad filming waiting to pick up his kid from school, but if it were me, I probably would have called the school office and asked them to bring out some sand/salt/kitty litter.

I wonder if he would've sat there if the kids were younger. If these were elementary or pre-school kids would he still find it amusing? I also think that the majority of kids that didn't get hurt were because they had their backpacks to cushion their falls. So many kids landing straight on their backs and without those backpacks they would be hurting pretty bad.

Towards the end of the video his daughter gets in the car and despite her laughter, she knows what they're doing is wrong.

It wasnt even funny though. It was like witnessing a sad little man doing something to make his life better through mocking and videoing others.

I felt very uncomfortable and cringy listening to him as it was a sad indictment on his character, and his whiny, creepy sadistic voice was gross. Weird.
The video in a way said a lot more about him as a person than it did about the teens who were slipping over.

I found it a bit funny.

People behaving like innocent penguins...it's a metaphor for life; a danger that some people can see, but not warning anyone, and others coming along and slipping up and being surprised. Dusting themselves off and then waddling off to walking into new dangers. Sweet really.
