Dog Abandoned At Station Along With Belongings

All I can say is at least the owner did abandon the poor mite in a place where the dog would be picked up.

I wonder why the owner packed all the dog's belongings into a suitcase ? Most probably because he couldn't afford to keep him ?

At least 100 people called in to say that they would be willing to offer the dog a home.

Hope he gets a nice home fast. Very cute dog.

Since he was left the way he was, I wonder if something happened to the owner. He was left so he would be found for sure, not able to run away and with his things. Not just dumped in the forrest, on the highway or something like that. It's of cause not ok at all, but it had been interesting to know why.

This is the least disturbing case of animal abandonment which I've encountered. My experience is that people just drop them off along a road. The ones where the vehicle is stopped before the animal is thrown out are lucky.

I wish we had a law here that abandoning an animal is a criminal offense, leading to a lifetime ban on owning animals. Hurray for Scotland!

I was discussing this earlier on with my hairdresser who is an animal lover and she also said that it was a kind gesture. Most people just dump them in places where they are prone to be injured, killed or never to be found.

Yes, it seems that someone cared about him. It makes one wonder what led to him being abandoned.

I saw this on FB. I always wonder what prompts people to do this...how bad their situation must be. Maybe they try to re-home an animal and no one steps up? The shelters around here are overflowing. They turn people away every day saying they have no room.

Stories like this, where an animal was just abandoned, tend to make people want to adopt them. It's not like they would just go to a shelter and take one of the many homeless pets. It's a sad situation.

I'm in no way advocating that people should abandon their pets or throw them away, but I do think they are the ones who stand the best chance of finding a home, assuming nothing bad happens to them. How many of us have animals now that we stumbled upon or who found us, yet we weren't actively looking to adopt?

I don't think that everyone who abandons an animal is a horrible person. Some are, yes. But not all.

We were discussing this with my supervisor this morning as it is most unusual. He adopted an abandoned dog a few years ago, that was tied up near a busy motorway.

He said that he could really get violent when people do this even though he is a very caring, calm and kind person.

He also thinks that the person must have been desperate to have left the dog. Prehaps the person was going to commit suicide or really had no more money ?

The poor mite has to undergo surgery.

That was just strange. Hope they both get charged. Poor dog. Not wanted buy his first family, not the second and then just left there. Hope he gets a nice home now.

I don't see what type of an excuse having a kid with asthma is either, how pathetic, the woman was my age and old enough to be responsible.

They should have know it was a bad idea before thinking of buying him. Why say you want to buy a dog when your kid has asthma?

There is something that I don't understand. If the dog wasn't as described in the ad, why did the woman leave a deposit and take the mite for a walk ?

Not sure why asthma entered into the situation unless her daughter was not feeling well and she felt an urgency to get her home. Apparently it didn't play a role in their wanting to adopt a dog in the first place.

She seems to be a nut case and thankfully that she didn't buy the dog. Kai will be better off with a family that really loves him and furthermore will get the operation for his eyes.
