Announcement Forum software upgrade Thursday 31. August

There's no update for that style yet, so I'm considering replacing it with another dark style.

Here are a couple of free ones that should be working with the new forum software version:

None of them look amazing, though. I would of course customise them with our forum icons etc, but still.

Yes, Plain Blue is my new favourite as well. I'm considering using it as the forum default style, at least until we purchase a more professional style.

Also, you may have noticed that the logout button is gone. This means that once you've logged in, you can never log out, mwuhahaha. Meh, in fact there is a logout button on the bottom of your account page and also on the account drop-down menu you get by hovering over your username in the top right of the window.

That is a distinct possibility. The menu seems to have disappeared from the settings.

If you go to http://forum.veggieviews.com/account/editfilter it should nevertheless bring up the settings for it. Is the Debate forum removed from there? What happens if you add it back in?

I re-selected it, and hit "save," but Debate threads are still showing.

typical minor gripe from me: the little graphic that shows a thread is watched; a pair of glasses.....how does a pair of glasses watch anything? Surely a pair of eyeballs would be better. Anyway I blocked the silly thing with adblocker.

What is the "Drafts" icon all about?

ETA: Also, I like the fact that we can now edit the titles of our own threads. To do that, go to the top of the screen on the right, where it says Watch Thread (or Unwatch Thread) and to the left of that, if you created the thread, it now says Thread Tools and an arrow for a drop down menu. Edit Title is in that drop down menu.

The drafts icon is to save your post without posting it, I think, so you can come back to it later.

The "edit your own thread titles" feature was completely accidental, actually, but glad to hear you like it, so I may leave it like that.

Good news, looks like there might be a new add-on that can replace this one. Will look into it later.

Okay, so I have installed a new add-on for this. To select forums to block from "New Posts", select "Ignore New Posts" from your user panel drop-down or go to your accounts page and select it from the menu on the left. Here is a direct link as well:

Excellent.

I've disabled the Flexile styles for now and made "Plain Blue" the default style. Leafy Greens (the old default) is still available in the pop-up menu you get by clicking the style name in the lower left corner of the window.

I've been using the Plain Blue. I'm liking that it's the default style now.

I can also see all the smileys now too. I wasn't able to before. Did we get a few new ones or are they just the ones I wasn't able to view?

It seems to me that they're all the same smileys, but the formatting is a little different, so you don't have to scroll all over the place just to see them all. They're a little more scrunched.
