News Hikers Die in US Desert

Sad story.

But it happens sometimes that people underestimate nature, both in the desert and in the mountains.
We are used to living savely, so we might not be prepared for accidents happening when venturing out into nature.

Best regards,
Andy

I think that people who live in moderate climates often woefully underestimate the severity of conditions elsewhere. I mean, people are still stupid enough to leave children and pets in vehicles in the summer, even though those tragedies are constantly in the news.

Thiese things will happen from time to time where there is hot or cold weather. People who aren't used to the clima underestimste their knowledge, the nature and how well trained and prepared they are. Heat, cold, water, avalange, wind etc will take life, as long as people don't respect the nature proper.

It's very sad, and it could be easier to avoid if people understood how hot it can be in some deserts, and how cold other contries can be. People have died in their cars in wintertime, because they don't respect that roads are closed because of the snow. And they don't have anything in the car to survive a couple of cold days and nights or are able to head back if they are stuck.

And you see it when it's really bad weather at the ocean. People get to close to the sea, and are taken by the waves and drowns.
