Some people and politicians were worried that the residents would be moved out of the borough, but the flats are only a couple of miles away from the Grenfell Tower. It says 68 flats have been acquired so I assume that means it will house all the people who survived the fire.

That is something positive out of this awful situation. I heard on the news that when renovations were being planned, almost all of the residents wanted fire-retardant cladding, citing the need for protection from fire. Some people living in the luxury block are complaining that moving the fire survivors in will bring down the property prices!

They are saying now that they still think there were 80 people who died in the fire, 255 people survived and 14 other residents were outside and away from the block. I thought that there would have been many more dead but most of the flats were one or two-bed properties.
