I was wondering if anyone has idiopathic pain or knows anyone that does. I have been suffering with horrible stabbing and burning pain for years in my right foot and leg. I got it overnight in 2014 and last year it became worse. I got 2 x rays, 2 blood tests, bone scan and emg. EMG for those who haven't had one is a torture test . It's like being stabbed and electrocuted. Unbelievable. My doc came to the conclusion it's idiopathic which is confusing I thought I had extreme neuropathy. I tried different drugs but a either do not help or give me brutal side effects because I have extreme ibs and my stomach can't handle it. I don't know what to do. I can't work and i'm lucky if I can walk 10 min. a day. I use a wheelchair a lot and have to lie down on the couch all day. The pain and stress is killing me. I hardly sleep.

Thanks.

If you really have any form of polyneuropathy,- than Pregabalin ("Lyrica") is the only modern drug that relieves the polyneuropathic pain (it's a calcium channel blocker). Ask your neurologist about Pregabalin. If you're in the US, then Lyrica is very popular there. I have a bad peripheral polyneuropathy too. And i use these pills,- they help me lead a relatively normal life. Keep in mind that if your myelin sheath is damaged (it probably is damaged somehow),- then you'll need to take choline alfoscerate ("Gliatilin"),- it's a magical medicine. It helps to prevent damage of your central nervous system, and if(!) polyneuropathy had had an impact on your brain,- choline alfoscerate quickly repairs your myelin sheath and reduces dizziness, helps to coordinate your movements again, etc.
(Sorry for my bad English, lol). I hope you'll figure something out.

Some folks find relief using CBD oil products either orally or topically. I am not sure where you live Natasha, but perhaps that could be an option for you.

Yes, I was on Lyrica for a couple of months, it's meant to be the best medication you can get for that type of pain.

 I know people who have found that CBD oil works very well for their pain, even the cheaper brands. I sent the rest of my CBD oil stuff off to someone online for her pain in her legs. It didn't work for me at all.

I forgot to mention I have been trying cbd oil and so far it's not helping. It was on sale. The regular price is insane. CBD Oil 1500mg (5%) 1oz Natural Flavor | Verified CBD

I live in Canada and the price for lyrica and Gliatilin is so pricey oh god I can't afford it sadly.I wish I was rich.
I'm doomed.

Thanks for the replies.
I can't afford Lyrica either! But if you only could get its analog - "Pregabalin Richter" by the Hungarian company "Richter Gedeon Nyrt." It costs much cheaper, and a 56-pill box of 75mg dozage is pretty affordable. I've converted the price: it's 32.2 in Canadian dollars. It's not as effective as Lyrica, but it still helps. Plus, you don't have to start with high dozes. Take the minimum doze and see how it goes.:)

Have you ever considered auriculo-acupuncture for your pain. I had a strange sensation in my right eye for months on end. I had all the necessary tests including a c scan. It was my neurologist that suggested a few sessions of auricle acupuncture and it worked !

I never heard of that kind of acupuncture. Thanks.

My only suggestion and this is coming from someone who knows nothing about your condition, maybe you might like to contact an osteopath and talk it through with them. Although I would try acupuncture first as shyvas suggested.

Thanks. I think I will try acupuncture. I'm not how many times since it is 60 dollars here which is a lot!I can't afford the osteopath though. They charge 120 an hour! :(

I'm sorry if i seem preachy, but probably you (and your neurologists) will need to do some more fundamental research on the cause of your exact neuropathy (or polyneuropathy). There are multiple varieties of them, and treating symptoms without treating the initial cause will be a dangerous waste of time, and it may cost you your health (i nearly lost my health at all because of some doctors' ignorance, and, to be honest, my own stubborness). Once the cause is in remission or reversed,- you'll be able to relieve your pain. (For instance, it would be nonsence to perform any procedures on a patient with diabetic polyneuropathy without treating causes of his insulin resistance). I'm not saying that you have to wait until you find the cause of pain and treat it (in most cases, the damage to nervous tissue is permanent) and not relieve the symptoms, but it's time to put pressure on your neurologists, and, of course, to think with your own head, what might have gone wrong, and what might be the real cause. (Honestly, your case doesn't look like consequences of B12 deficiency, which occurs among vegans, so it could be anything, and you know best what it might be).
Just in case:
Polyneuropathy: Causes, symptoms, and treatment

Thanks. I am going to put pressure on my doc or see another. I have been to many so far.I really hate a lot of docs.:(Thanks for the link. omg life sucks.
