I learned someplace that okra usually gets slimy when it's cut and then contacts water. If you wash it off, dry it, cut it into pieces of desired, and sautee it in oil, it doesn't get slimy. (Or if you don't feel it needs washing, you could just sautee it.)Hehe, maybe I am really strange, but I love or at least am ok with all the foods mentioned here so far (even okra if it is not too slimy after preparation - somehow it can be possible prepared in a non-slimy way) ...
