TV & Film Movie Lounge

I downloaded an oldie today that many people have probably never heard of (and for good reason). :p

Ssssss (1973) starring Strother Martin and Dirk Benedict.

Tom Cruise and I are only a few months apart in birth...

Anyone want to see me dancing around in my tighty whities like Risky Business?

:p

No... that was a joke.

How can you not think any movie with Dirk Benedict (a Montana native) in it wasn't a masterpiece? Especially one about a snake/man hybrid?
And as far as Strother Martin, I think what you have there is a failure to communicate.

I watched Stage Beauty the other night. I do really enjoy that film. Billy Crudup and Claire Danes are the leads in that.
Also watched Australia, with Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, David Wenham, among others.

I am taping Titanic as I haven't ever watched that film but I caught a bit of it earlier and surprisingly it looked interesting.

^^^ Titanic was a good film but it seriously made me hate Celine Dion for that sappy-*** song she wrote for it. Just the sound of her voice now makes me cringe.

Today I watched... The Odd Couple (1968)... Grumpy Old men (1993) and Grumpier Old men (1995).

Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon were such close friends and a great onscreen duo that they even arranged to be buried near each other.

Just love them.

I saw The Dark Knight Rises on the weekend. It was certainly enjoyable (*ahem* Joseph Gordon Levitt) but was so full of anti-socialist propaganda it was a little hard to sit through. The ending was super cool, though.

No! Don't you understand? It can't have anti-socialist propaganda! It's a movie made by Obama to sabotage America with communist ideals, remember?

Oh right! How could I have missed the way they didn't demonize socio-anarchism with a thin caricature of what revolution would look like or that it didn't idolize the police machine?! :p

I just watched Exiled. Visually stunning. A HK mobster movie influenced by spaghetti westerns. I don't usually care for Asian gangster movies, but this one gets high marks. Did I mention it is GORGEOUS?
