I didn't realise that owls could fly just long distances as you never see them flying. I'm so pleased that the
men looked after the poor mite.

Owls are stunning creatures and I have read somewhere that they are endangered species.

I've seen them flying...might have seen one the other week.....a huge bird flew across the road as we were driving along. Some kind of bird of prey anyway.

Went into a barn a few years ago, and there was a beautiful barn owl flying around in the roof, looking down at us.

You're lucky as I always hear them when I'm in the UK but have never seen one. They are really gorgeous creatures.

A small owl lives in an oak in our yard. I hear him hooting often at night (I have windows open often) and have seen him sitting on the ground in the yard!

I think he is this kind.

How lucky to have such a lovely neighbour.

I looked up some owl sounds and I only recognised the tawny owl's call : Some of them sound quite scary and make screeching sound noises.

Great sounds! Here is a sound file on our owl, but this is way fancier than he usually sounds, lol. He usually gives a few trills and hoots.

I also hear them when I'm at my family's house but have never seen them. They have lots of shrubs, flowers and bushes in the garden so I guess that the mite(s) hide in them.

You're right and I just couldn't remember where I have heard them before. I wonder whether it means that they sound scary ?
