Paris Attacks -132 Killed - 99 Injured

129 dead and 352 injured, 99 critically.

I saw Teresa May saying that the football match we are having here with France on Tuesday will go on as planned.
 
There were 168 raids during the night. One of the people whose door was broken by police called in the Premium cs where I work. She wanted to know whether her door which was completely damaged (3000 €) was covered by her credit card.
 
Why is Molenbeek such a hotspot? Do you know if there is any significance about that part of Brussels, Shyvas?

I've never heard of it. However, the raids in question where in France. Apparently some of the terrorists where known of by the secret services and one had been to Syria recently.
 
They said that there have been seven foiled terrorist attacks in the UK in the last six months. I do have quite a lot of faith in the British intelligence services. PressTV-‘7 UK terror attacks foiled in 6 months’

No, I haven't either, one of my parents lived in Brussels and I don't remember seeing any poor areas while I was there but it must have changed since then.

Yes, same here. Plus as you have previously stated there are many CCTV cameras in the UK which may deter some possible attacks.

Last I read they were 3 coordinated groups. What is publicly known about the ongoing investigation and raids point firmly to the fact that this was a larger conspiracy with help from outside. "Self-contained" is not the correct term for these groups, that was my point.

I doubt it would really deter these attacks, but it definitely could help the investigators after the attacks. For this and other crime-related reasons I think CCTV cameras are a good thing in public areas, and the generation growing up now is so used to sharing pictures of themselves all the time anyway ...

I'm sure that there are far more guns and terrorists over here. In Marseilles ( I live about 20 kms south) there are often people that are murdered with machine guns and armed lorries torn apart by bazookas. We also have lots of armed robbery attack in supermarkets and jewellery shops. I feel far safer when I'm in the UK.

I went to the Post Office today. As I was leaving I noticed that they were flying the American flag at half-mast. I assume (but do not know) that this is related to the Paris bombings.

President Barack Obama ordered the gesture of solidarity with France by proclamation Sunday. The flags will be flown at half-staff until sunset Thursday. Earlier, in the day, House Speaker Paul Ryan ordered flags lowered at the U.S. Capitol.

I've heard that the authorities did find a bomb, but it proved to be a fake.
