My husband and I are scheduling a short trip to visit friends this month. I’m a planner, which means I’ve been busy reading restaurant menus online and compiling a list of any that look promising for vegan dining. most of you know my opinion on this topic - minimal oils of all kinds is what I try to live by as oils fall into the category of inflammation causers and also consuming oils can more easily lead to Type II Diabetes

olive oil and some avocado oil a small amount at time are what we cook with when we use any at all - unfortunately when consuming alt meats and other processed foods I have more of the kinds I do not prefer so I try to stay balanced - I would not recoil if a friend or family member offered me some on a salad I would just quietly not eat it and stick to vinegar etc

The anti-seed oil crowd are a bit of an odd bunch I think. Heavily criticising seed oils for which evidence in support of harmful effects is thin on the ground while embracing saturated fat for which evidence of its harmful effects is beyond debate. I am glad the Vegan RD is pushing back against that whole seed oil nonsense. However, I agree with those that say the reason oils get a bad rap is because they are often used in heavily processed foods which themselves are a problem. Dr Gil from Nutrition Made Simple posted a great video about this recently:
