Hello!

I’m starting this thread for us who lives in Sweden, are staying in Sweden or will visit Sweden in the future. I’m hoping we could share places to eat, places to live and maybe also meet up for vegan fika or meal/potlucks sometimes!

My name is Malou, I’m working as a server at the vegan beer bar here in Stockholm (capital). We are a 100% vegan bar with good mixed cuisine food (Tapas, pizza, Swedish traditional, Georgian etc inspired dishes) with an ever changing menu. I’m hoping to see some great recommendations and keep a friendly tone!

NO food-shaming is allowed! We are all different and have different amounts of time, life and money. As long as you are vegan and doing your best to reduce the harm of animals and planet, you have all the rights to rely on certain foods!

Hi Malou! Do you work @ Hermann's Vegan Buffet on the bluff overlooking the city? That's a fabulous place. While I don't believe in food shaming I am conflicted because slaughterhouse workers lead a life of constant misery. They are being exploited by others to do their dirty work. They are often undereducated and have lower social economic status., feeling like they have few employment options. They also have higher rates of alcoholism, domestic abuse and even experience suicide higher than the general population. There is also trauma from not only inflicting pain on animals but on watching co-workers experience injury or death. There have been decapitations involving equipment to slaughter and process cattle. I want to reach out to slaughterhouse workers in Sweden and the Nordic countries who can be the first to stop working in those circumstances.
I belong to Direct Action Everwhere DXE but they don't seem to take the human toll as seriously as they should. No one should feel they have to work in a slaughterhouse to survive and pay bills and raise their family.

I am trying to help a restaurant with an incredible meat substitute the orange be''ef. We need to have enlarged photos of the orange be'ef to show texture and convert the GP into going reducing their consumption of animal protein.
