Three musical acts cancel shows at Seaworld

I hope all this leads to the downfall of SeaWorld. Then I hope it's contagious like a dominoes effect and the circuses are next.

I hope so, too. I think the general public has short term memory, though. :( after these movies are aired, everyone gets all up in arms and jumps on the boycotting bandwagon, but it all simmers off in a few months... I think that's what sea world is counting on, and I sure hope it doesn't happen. I want real change this time!

I wonder if the remaining three will cancel or preform? I also wonder how many people will show up.

There are only 3 acts left now, all country bands. All the big names pulled out. :)

Only two: Justin Cole Moore and Scotty McCreery.

SeaWorld is trying to book new acts but hasn't announced anything yet. Since the concert series is designed to bring people in during a slow time, they'll have to announce a new schedule at some point to get people interested; the "Blackfish Brigade" is ready. In the meantime, they're trying to get other artists to pull music from the Shamu shows.

Not a musical group, but still good to see.

Pt. Dume Cancels Annual SeaWorld Trip Amid Controversy

Administrators at Point Dume Marine Science Elementary School cancelled an annual spring field trip to SeaWorld last week after students and parents complained of unethical treatment of orca whales alleged at the park in the controversial new documentary “Blackfish.”

Although there are varying accounts of how the issue was initially presented to the school—namely, whether parents first brought it to the attention of Point Dume Principal Rebecca Johnson or if fifth-grade student Kirra Kotler originally presented the idea of cancelling the field trip to her classmates—Johnson said the cancellation came down to what was best for students...

These seaworld jerks.

"(CNN) -- Maybe it's not surprising that in SeaWorld's hometown of Orlando, an online poll showed overwhelming support for the theme park in light of a recent documentary that has raised questions about its treatment of killer whales.

What has turned heads, though, is the fact that more than half of the votes appeared to have come from a computer, or computers, at SeaWorld itself."

Bagatelle cancels Seaworld's 50th anniversary party. They were going to put penguins on display during the party. Idiots.
Sure, penguins are naturally dressed for a party, but to them, a “party” is doing tummy slides across the ice and swimming really fast in really cold water—not being loaded up in a truck and deposited at a noisy restaurant to serve as living party decorations. The latter is what SeaWorld had in mind—until PETA got wind of it, that is.

After being bombarded with e-mails and phone calls from PETA supporters, New York restaurant Bagatelle canceled a 50th anniversary party planned by SeaWorld that was supposed to have taken place at the restaurant this evening. After learning from PETA about SeaWorld’s routine exploitation of animals—which was movingly documented by the blockbuster documentary Blackfish—Bagatelle’s owners did “what was right in our hearts” and figuratively told SeaWorld to go jump in an Antarctic lake...
