VegNews editorial staff quits

I was going to say something like that was only to be expected from a "vegan" magazine in which there were photos of dishes they pretended were vegan, when in reality they were meat dishes. But SuperVegan already has that aspect of the story covered quite well!

What? Meat dishes that pretended were vegan? I never heard of this! I've been subbed for the last year and just renewed (abeit only the online version this time). Overall, I like it...not that I've seen any other vegan magazine for sale anywhere in hard copy...

Damn. I love VegNews. Although the photo scandal was pretty damn stupid, I had hoped they were beyond it and would continue to grow. I love how they highlight new products and vegan dishes from around the world. I love their guest columnists. :(

I too, had hoped the stock-photo thing would make them better. This sounds like some sort of internal junior-high ********, honestly.

@spidergrrll, I think it was the NYT that used "eating crow", to be fair.

It's sad to lose the leading vegan magazine out there, but they lost me when they refused to apologize for what they did. Stabbing your own followers in the back like that makes a mockery of your cause. I canceled my subscription and haven't looked back.

That is messed up, and sad too. I feel sorry for the employees and contributors. Hopefully, some of the issues can be resolved this week in the bankruptcy hearings.

bleh. Unrelated but related. Bought the digital subscription. Had to make a total of 3 phone calls on top of countless emails to get access to even ONE issue. ARgh. I want to re-sub for the print version but now I'm not so sure.
