I read about this too. This happens just days after the accident with the unmanned Antares rocket carrying the Cygnus cargo ship. Not a good time for private corporations in the space travel biz.

It's probably cheap tho! Cheap is the new black (or silver?) in space travel.

depends on the payload. If the rocket is carrying an expensive piece of equipment then it's a false economy. If it is just dehydrated food, then maybe it makes more sense.
