What did you Cook or Bake Today?

I made buffalo tofu nuggets. I made the sauce and I cooked the tofu chunks in the air fryer. I had frozen the tofu first to get it more chewy. The chunks came out awesome. I seasoned them with a little salt and pepper, garlic powder and then coated them in cornstarch to get some crunch. Worked like a charm in the air fryer. I will keep the sauce separate until I'm ready to eat them. They are for the Super Bowl tomorrow. :)

Torn between pita breads or rye bread 🤔
I really really want to make a chocolate cake with raspberry jam filling. Or chocolate cake with mocha frosting.
Chocolate and raspberry are so awesome together.

I made phylo dessert yesterday and they were a flop - I used cherry pie filling and lemon pie filling w/berries - and there was some phylo left over so I made nuns farts which are just brown sugar, raisins and cinnamon - I put the leftover in the fridge and freezer but I am not looking forwarding to eating them.

I'm sorry it didn't work out. That's so disappointing when a recipe doesn't come out the way you'd hoped.

Really? Or a typo? That would smell wonderful
I too often loose the desire I started with when making desserts, why I haven't made that cake yet
I made a cup of tea and sat on the couch holding it in my lap and fell asleep. Wore up when the half full cup spilled :ignore:. Cover needed a wash anyway. I'm awake now

Couldn't decide on bread so I made pretzels, and left a couple without the baking soda dip for buns.
I made a lentil cashew dip--1/3 cup cashews, 1/2 cup red lentils, 2 1/2 cups water simmered 15 min. Added a packet of French onion dip and blended with immersion blender till smooth. Gets real thick as it cools. This was inspo--

I'd think that a culinary flop with either cherry pie filling or cinnamon and brown sugar would be the tastiest flops imaginable! Perhaps you know some folks who would be quite eager to take them off your hands. Did something go wrong with the texture, as opposed to the flavor? Phylo can be tricky to work with; I used it once to make vegan baklava. ETA: I just read your your other post about how it was better the next day. I'm glad!

that is really what they call them - Pets de Sœur (Nuns' Farts) - it is a french Canadian thing, traditionally made with leftover pastry not phylo

That name is hilarious!
I haven't made anything yet today, but I might make bread later. I'm just about out.

Thank you, @Tom L. - the phylo wasn't great but it was the filling as I don't normally eat something so processed and full of sugar and so jellified... we are still eating them as I froze them so had a piece again last night and heated up in the microwave makes them edible-ish - fills the gap anyways.

I've got two loaves of bread dough rising, and I'm going to make dough for sugar cookies. I'm going to make heart-shaped ones for Valentine's Day. :D I also want to make my chocolate peanut butter tunnel cake, but that is an ambitious undertaking that might be reserved for Friday. :D I likely will make some hummus later and possibly some soy curls chik'n salad. I thought I had celery, but I don't, so a trip to the store will be in order for that and a couple of other things.

Wow, that is a beautiful loaf!
...and reminds me that I was gonna start a rye bread as soon as I got home, not sit around and drink coffee :ignore:

Two hours before you cut 😲

I made the heart-shaped sugar cookies this morning (along with some other shapes), and now the chocolate peanut butter tunnel cake is in the oven. I'm going to try to wait until tomorrow to have it, but I make no promises, haha. I have to let it cool two hours before I can even take it out of the pan, and I'll have to wait for the ganache to solidify before I cut into it. So it would be 9 p.m. at the earliest that I could have a slice. :D
