History Ötzi the Iceman

He Died 5,300 Years Ago — And Now We Know His Last Meal

I’ve been following the saga of Ötzi the Iceman since the news of his discovery first reached the US. I just think he’s fascinating. This study of his last meal provides even more insight into the man and his environment and his time.
"So, even though not much time separates Ötzi and us in the grand scheme of things, the way humans eat has certainly changed immensely since his day."
-Yeah, well said...:???:

I heard a historian on YT recently say that European peoples did not have a much tradition for tattoos. I think this is largely correct, but someone in the comments section pointed out that Ötzi had several tattoos. Then someone else said Ötzi didn't qualify as European ... I'm not sure what to make of that last comment, but clearly Ötzi lived in Europe, and I find it interesting that tattooing seems to have died out until it was re-introduced in the modern era.
