Ledboots,

I have been snarky and condescending to you on at least several occasions in verious discussions of U.S. healthcare issues (and in the gun control discussion, if I remember correctly). While I feel strongly about these issues, that is/was no excuse to talk to you as I did. I apologize, and I will do my best to curb these tendencies of mine in any future exchanges with you.

I am making this apology publicly, because the affront was a public one.

ETA: I just remembered - I was also snarky to you in the California manhunt thread, and my apology extends to that.

Thank you for accepting my apology, ledboots. I likewise accept yours, even though yours is quite unnecessay - I'm sure I was the one who instigated all unpleasantness between us. :p

LOL! I had a younger colleague, and we'd show up in each other's offices, and say "I need to exercise my inner *****!" And then we would.

I do. I think there are times when a person truly does learn from a situation, and may have sincere regrets.

I personally don't take apologies seriously if they don't come with a promise to never do it again though. I realize only time can tell if the apology is sincere, but whenever I make an apology, it always comes with that promise. It wouldn't be worth much if I had no intention of not stopping the behavior I'm apologizing for. Apologies are not easy things to offer, so I like to give a person the benefit of the doubt that they really do mean it.
