Are Roasted Unsalted Peanuts healthy?

Today an acquaintance of mine and I was talking about our thyroid issues. We both have elevated TSH levels (1). She was told by her chiropractor (2) to eat 2 - 3 Brazil nuts each day. She has been doing that and her TSH levels have decreased. Her TSH was only slightly elevated but is now close to normal.

I think I'll try it. However I don't know, not only if it will help but if I'll be able to tell. (3)
Here's hoping you and your health care providers get your thyroid issues solved. I don't know how you would be able to tell if they were resolved without some sort of test, either.

Eating 4 raw kidney beans alone can apparently have quite unpleasant consequences.

She was told by her chiropractor (2) to eat 2 - 3 Brazil nuts each day.

There are apparently at least a few a"lternative" cancer treatments (common medicine treatments are all or almost all bad, say even (e.g. retired) doctors who carry / carried out them, e.g. about chemotherapy). Proper nutrition for cancer is said to be extremely important. Stress promotes cancer.

the Brazil nuts were not for treating cancer. They were for improving the health of the throid. Both of our thyroids were damaged by radiation while being treated for cancer. the cancer itself was never in the thyroid.

I'm not sure it will work but I do think it's worth trying.

And yes the treatment for cancer is awful. But since the alternative is death, we endure it.
In my case, the treatment is 95% effective. there aren't any "alternative" treatments that are even close to that.

I don't think there is any evidence that stress promotes cancer. but stress might decrease a person't overall health which might make someone a little more susceptible to some forms of cancer. Or decrease their survivability. but I don't think there is any direct evidence.

proper nutrition is very important during the treatment of cancer. But I think that has more to do with the trouble most of us have getting proper nutrition during chemo.

I don't buy into Prof Seyfiels conclusion. For instance about 95% of the women who develop cervivcal cancer had HPV. I think it's a similar number with men who get head and neck cancer. the type of Cancer that the people in my support group (head and neck) have are almost all HPV related. And that is just one kind of cancer. What about smoking related, and sunshine related. And I'm pretty sure there IS a genetic factor, too.

Yes, the nutrition also will / might be (very) good for the health of the throid. And if one had an alternative treatment one would / might avoid the radiation (causing the damaged throids). Etc.

The nuts and / or the alternative treatments (generally), yes, absolutely.

Or may be an alternative treatment.

Yes, but unfortunately with considerable side effects.

OK, so you tried them / some of them.

For the said practitioner, probably / definitely. And even for others, I think. Very bad for the immune system. Stress is considered extremely unhealthy, one of the main problems in "civilization" (heart attacks, circulatory diseases, etc.).

I would assume that proper nutrition is/can be (an extremely important) part of the treatment. That nutrition might be the treatment.

Even if that's all the case, I wouldn't think (who knows nothing about cancer) that it excludes/should exclude alternative healing methods.

Further to the initial question ' Are roasted unsalted peanuts healthy', the discussion has now evolved to a mention of some very serious illnesses and their treatments.

Yes, yes, it's unbelievable what can develop from a simple and fluffy peanut communication (if you're not careful).

Ah, yes, thank you. Also for the second paragraph of the terms, very useful. It would probably be better if everyone here knew the terms and rules by heart. To always be aware of them.

OK, so then I'll better print them out and pin them on the wall behind the computer (and a copy in the kitchen) so that one can look at them every time before making a new post. I guess, everyone here should do that.

Thank you very much!

Yes, roasted unsalted peanuts are a healthy snack option. They are packed with essential nutrients like protein, healthy fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals such as magnesium and potassium, which support heart health and overall well-being. Unlike salted versions, unsalted peanuts help control sodium intake, making them a better choice for maintaining healthy blood pressure levels.
