Disqus comments help

I use the Disqus comments feature on different websites, and I could use a little help with it. The comment box I see doesn't have formatting icons like we have here on VV. I don't know if that's normal or there's just something wrong with my computer. I do see other commenters using certain things such as italics or the strickeover, but without icons, I have no idea how to do it myself. I'm too embarrassed to ask those commenters or Disqus for help, so I'm asking if anyone on VV knows how to do that in Disqus. I use Firefox most of the time, but I also have IE. I did some searching on Google for keyboard shortcuts, but I couldn't find anything that helped me.
