U.S. Senate candidate wants to raise money to give guns to the homeless

The article said:
MICHIGAN — A libertarian candidate for the U.S. Senate wants the homeless to start packing heat.

Brian Ellison, who’s running for the U.S. Senate in Michigan, wants to raise money to buy 20 shotguns for homeless individuals, according to Michigan Public Radio.

Ellison says the campaign is intended to arm the homeless for their own protection, telling WUOM“Not only are the homeless constantly under threat from would-be criminals, but they are also under threat from governments at various levels that criminalize activities that homeless people rely on for survival.”

I agree that homeless are per se not more dangerous than other people.

I just don't consider it a very good idea for anybody to run around with a gun...

The formulation "but they are also under threat from governments at various levels that criminalize activities that homeless people rely on for survival." is a bit ambiguous, though.

“They probably got the idea from one of those protesty video games.”

My only criticism is of the title "Enough."I think that "More Than Enough" or just "Too Much" would be more appropriate.

The NRA’s narrative about Maryland school shooting collapses
The gun lobby argued that last week’s shooting was stopped by an armed school resource officer, proving that “good guys with guns” can prevent tragedies. But the St. Mary’s County sheriff’s office confirmed on Monday night that the 17-year-old gunman who opened fire at Great Mills High School actually died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

So you don't think being confronted caused him to kill himself sooner, before taking more with him? Most of these mass murdering nuts plan to kill themselves at the end. Being confronted likely saved lives, even if the officer's bullet isn't the one that killed him.

That would depend on what the shooter intended, surely. I've heard that he targeted the girl. They had had a relationship that had just ended. Is there any report that he planned a mass shooting? He doesn't seem to have come equipped for that.

I never commented. I posted a link to an article & a quote from that article.
