UK Lawson - Saatchi. Domestic Abuse in Public ?

It makes me so angry to see someone treating Nigella like that. She is one of my favourite celebrities. If I had been there that little scumbag would have been sorry he had gone out that night.
I showed my adult son the pictures, and he said he would have had to intervene if he had seen that.

Grabbing someone by the throat is so, so violent. Worse than a punch to the face. I hope no one is blaming her for being scared of a violent billionaire. :(

I only wish your son, or someone like him, had been there. I cant believe that this is not being taken more seriously by the police.

Me too. My boy is a talented martial artist and could have stopped it with no violence by just walking over there and asking the choker what he was doing. He has a calm way about him that defuses things.

I guess the police can't do much if she says they were just fooling around.

The whole situation is fucked up and sad. I don't understand how this ******* thought he could get away with it. They must be followed by paparazzi 24/7. And shame on the scumbag photographer for selling the photos and not taking them to the cops.

According to what I've read she has left the house with her kids. Hopefully she will stay away from him. It's scary to think about how he treats her in private out of public view.

He's a multi millionaire. She is also a multi millionaire.

The amount of money he has of course has no bearing on his capacity for violence.

She, fortunately, is able to afford more secure living arrangements than most women in a similar situation, should she decide to leave him.

The amount of money he has gives him power. An angry rich man is much more dangerous than an angry poor one. More resources, lots of people wanting to do him favors...

The fact that she has money of her own does help her in some ways, but in no way does it make it her fault that a violent man put his hands around her throat.

The world needs more men like your boy, Ledboots.

I am guessing that the reason your son has a calm way about him is that he has no fear?

I wish you had a son a bit closer to my age and also a bit physically closer to London :p

Yes, he is pretty confident, lol. I think part of it comes from not just being physically unafraid, but sure of himself in a lot of ways. I'm very proud of him, crazy long hair and beard and all.

It certainly does look like he is getting away with it. The case as far as the police is concerned is closed, as he has only been given a caution.
Even DPM Nick Clegg seemed very embarrassed by a question that was asked by a journalist. He struggled to give an answer because the person in question is rich. If it was a Mr Nobody , I think that the response would have been different.

This topic is paining me ..

I have personal experience of domestic violence.

It ranges from having been borderline gratutiously(sp?) violent through to having been SEVERELY 'punished' for totaly refraining from violence.

My current relationship with 'Anne Chovie' (sometimes seen on this forum) is actualy the first relationship I've had in 30 years where being a non violent man is actualy both demanded and reciprocated.

Will say this ...

Dysfunctional relationships occur when the emotional needs of one partner are not being met by the other.

Emotional needs can be negative as well as positive though.

It is not impossible that Ms Lawson has a negative emotional need that is met by Mr Saatchi's violence.

If that is the case and Mr Saatchi does not meet Ms Lawson's negative emotional needs then Mr Saatchi is going suffer in ways that will make the most severe forms of physical violence seem like a tender mercy in comparison.

So are you saying it's possible that the violence directed towards Ms Lawson from Mr Saatchi could be of her own making?
